About the Artist:
The first thing Madeline will tell you about herself is that she is a mother and a grandmother, which is how her interest in children's music began. Funded by her classical training , and years of experience as a performer, she writes entertaining and warm, folk-like songs that speak for the children, and sometimes for the parents too. She is passionate about nurturing children's creativity and encouraging their musical participation. Madeline composes and performs with her favorite instrument, the ukulele. She turned her full focus to children's music starting in 2006 and since then has produced three cd's and won three national awards. She is a dedicated volunteer and performs frequently in the public schools, libraries and sometimes in the children's hospitals, often conducting mini-workshops in song writing for the young. Her other performances include festivals and special events.
