Well I woke up in the morning
I fell down on the floor
I picked myself up
and headed out the door

I went down to breakfast
Eggs sunny side up
My sister was there
Drinking juice from her cup

She said, “You’ll be late!”
I said, “Please don’t get me down.”
I shoveled in my eggs
and turned myself around

I headed out the door
My bus was up the block
I ran down to the bus stop
but I was out of luck

So I picked up my feet
and started on my way
but I knew deep down
it would take all day

I was walking along
Feeling like a fool
but then my Dad drove up
and brought me to school

When I got in the door
the bell was ringing late
I charged down the hall
like a bull at the gate

I slid into my seat
then the fire bell rang
I trudged up and down the hall
to the clang, clang, clang

I missed my worst class
What could I say?
Sometimes you have
an up and down day!
